Apparelistix
Spring 2023
Apparelistix is an application based project designed to offer a easy experience of purchasing affordable clothing through a mobile device. The goal was to provide a straight forward and fun experience for users trying to purchase clothing for themselves or others.

This project consists of the workflow and steps taken throughout the development, including UX research, sketches, wireframing, and eventual prototyping of a functional site.
Problems
1 / Search features
While many applications utilize search features in their applications they are often complicated and do not offer a clear path for users looking for specific items.
2 / Check out process
Unclear instructions during the checkout process cause users to feel frustrated and confused wasting their time attempting to make a purchase.
3 / Navigation
Users become overwhelmed by a number of options and images presented, causing confusion and annoyance at having to sift through numerous pages to find the correct products.
Solutions
Create a functioning application that helps users easily and efficiently find the right clothing suited for them or others. We can do this by minimizing unnecessary content and providing a clear search feature to help users find the things they need. Additionally to ease confusion while use the application imagery, pictures and iconography were utilize to give users a clear visual representation of how to effectively use the application.
Concept Sketches

The goal was to create a user experience that was easy to navigate and simplisitic.
User Personas
User personas were created to empathize with potential users and to further understand possible issues with the product. Goals and frustrations were created and used as targets for development to create a more accessible and inclusive application.

User Journey
User journeys were created to further understand and empathize with potential users on the struggles involved with the process of using a product. Further realizations were made about possible improvements and what should be avoided if possible.

Conclusions
1 / Impact
The app allows for users to easily find clothing options of there choice while also avoiding confusion and unnecessary information that could overwhelm the user.

"The app looks good and is easy to use, with some changes I'd certainly enjoy using it.”
2 / Learning
While designing this application I learned a lot about how to format a good purchasing menu, ensuring to account for multiple payment options, the ability to travel forwards and backwards, and making sure users are confident in there decisions before purchasing by including a confirmation page. Additionally I learned more about utilizing a sticker sheet and having well formatted text and iconography throughout the design.
3 / Future
Conduct another round of usability studies to further iterate on the high fidelity design and make necessary changes based upon user feedback. Potentially include more options for accessibility and include non gendered sections for browsing options.
