Bookease
Winter 2023
Bookease is a domestic ticket booking application located in the United States. The goal of Bookease is to provide an easy and hassle-free process to search for and book movie tickets. The typical user would be young adults and adults aged between 21-65.

Developing this project I was involved in creating a workflow and the steps taken throughout the applications creation, including conducting user interviews, incorporating feedback, paper and digital wireframing, low and high-fidelity prototyping, conducting usability studies, accounting for accessibility and iterating on designs and responsive design.

Problems
1 / Time
Working adults are too busy to physically buy tickets in person making it difficult for them to plan around going to the theaters.
2 / Purchasing Options
Tickets often sell out and it can be difficult to get tickets where seating is together without extensive planning.
3 / Information Architecture
Alternative ticket purchasing platforms are often cluttered with advertisements and can make it unnecessarily difficult to read and navigate through the purchasing and reserving menus.
Solutions
Design an app that allows for users to purchase their movie tickets quickly and efficiently online offering a less frustrating and more rewarding experience. We can do this by offering important information first and minimize obstacles in the way of making purchases and achieving a user goal.
Concept Sketches

Creating an experience that allowed users to be efficient with their time was a major goal for the Bookease's design.
User Personas
User personas were created to empathize with potential users and to further understand possible issues with the product. Goals and frustrations were created and used as targets for development to create a more accessible and inclusive application.

User Journey
User journeys were created to further understand and empathize with potential users on the struggles involved with the process of using a product. Further realizations were made about possible improvements and what should be avoided if possible.

Conclusions
1 / Impact
The app allows for users easily book tickets and helps with the booking process overall.

"The app is simplistic and easy to use, with some updates I’d use it to book tickets from home.”
2 / Learning
While designing the Bookease application I learned a lot about user wants and needs and that in order to really make a good application you need to conduct usability studies and understand the user.
3 / Future
Conduct another round of usability studies to further iterate on the high fidelity design. Work on the menu formatting to make it less confusing and function properly. Add more accessibility options such as different languages, screen reader technologies, or different font sizes.
